The Inside-Out

The Inside-Out program supports members of the Black community who face barriers to employment due to socioeconomics, justice involvement, and limited opportunities.

OVERVIEW

The pre-release support program prepares individuals in custody for successful reintegration into the community by equipping them with essential skills (positive cultural identity, social skills, employment readiness and financial literacy). Inside Out also offers post-custody life stabilization and workforce development including entrepreneurship, to support people transitioning back to community.

Participants receive support to enhance their overall well-being and foster positive social connections.

Inside

Through in person or virtual facilitation, our team works with persons in custody to enhance life skills, perception of self, employability, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, restorative practice and transferable skill development.

Out

Urban Rez provides a continuum of social and employment related wraparound support when the individual re-enters the community from custody.

The Life Stabilization Team supports Black, racialized and underserved adults with community reintegrating custody. Prior to release the team connects with individuals in custody to build rapport and establish a plan of viable action. When released, the team provides wraparound support and coordinates a series of culturally relevant community resources. Post release support addressing the returning citizen’s immediate needs increases the likelihood of success and thereby reduces recidivism.
