As a partner of Safe TO, the city of Toronto’s ‘Violence Prevention Toronto’ initiative, Urban Rez will directly deliver support to identified communities that are disproportionately impacted by community violence from the Community Mobile Unit. Trauma informed and responsive services including outreach, engagement, referrals, arts-based programming, counselling, tutoring, and creative education with the aim of empowering individuals and fostering community development are provided. Key to this effort and its success are the partnerships and collaborations with existing local and trusted community organizations who will ‘welcome’ URSSE into their community.
